About
SVG-Utils is a collection of scripts and a Python library for manipulating and creating SVG files. It is written to be as easy to use as possible for both users and developers.
Please read the latest Release Notes.
The latest development files could be found on the CVS server at FreeDesktop, but we have since moved on to Berlios. This project isn't really under active development anymore, and the current SVN version is to be considered quite unstable. Depending on how things go I may start working on the project again as it does interest me, but right now nothing is set in stone.
Install
Before starting the install, please make sure you have the required dependencies installed. SVG-Utils depends on Python 2.3 or newer and Pyxml.
Begin by downloading the latest release tarball. Then, issue these commands:
tar -xvjf svg-utils-0.1.tar.bz2<br/>
cd svg-utils-0.1<br/>
./install<br/>
To see additional options that can be passed to the install script use "./install --help".
Documentation
There was online documentation for all aspects of the SVG-Utils project available, but I lost most of it when my old hosting company went under. I've dug up the Web Archive version and have linked to it in hopes that it will still be useful. Go to the online documentation.
Releases
Here you can find all the released files for SVG Utils, with the most recent release listed first. The project was started in 2004.
